Adult Individual and Couples Counsellor

I was born and raised in sunny California. Throughout my life, I've pursued healing professions to help adults connect with who they are and overcome patterns that hinder them from experiencing connection, love, well-being, freedom, fulfillment, and heart-centred living. In my mid 30's I decided to go back to school where I completed a Masters in Marital and Family Therapy (MFT) through Alliant International University in San Diego. This is where I met my loving Canadian husband and after we completed our MFT program we got married and moved to Canada.

I have been working with adult individuals and couples for over 5 years in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma and critical incidents, past abuse, relationship disconnections, communication differences, lifespan shifts, identity and purpose struggles, loss and grief, and life transitions.

Inspired by Dr. Brem Brown in my own healing journey, my heart's desire is to create a safe place for you to recognize and transform the life patterns of overwhelming anxiety or panic attacks, persistent stress from big life changes and events, distress from trauma, and pain from broken, disconnected, or lost relationships. Using both traditional and holistic healing methods, together we will nurture your emotional health, cultivate inner strength and confidence, tap into love, and step into your healing. An area that is dear to my heart is working in trauma recovery with adults, especially for those who have a history of relational attachment wounds, childhood abuse and neglect, or bullying, and women who have endured harassment or assault. I'm also passionate about teaching mindfulness and somatic grounding techniques to heal those struggling with anxiety and stress. I also find there is nothing more captivating than coming alongside a couple and unfolding the deeper connection and love that they have been fighting so hard to find with each other.

I have extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT & EFIT) for both individuals and couples. I have also received some training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and integrate this therapy into my work with individuals and couples. I also use mindfulness practices to strengthen self-awareness, compassion, and attunement to the body's sensations (somatic).

When I am not helping others heal, I'm hanging with my husband and our 2 fur babies and/or family and friends. I also enjoy crocheting (a newly learned skill from covid-19 isolation), yoga, reading (fiction and non-fiction), hiking, swimming, making/playing with natural makeup and body care, trying new restaurants, watching a good documentary or mystery movie, cooking, and some simple gardening.
